Our Story
FunLand Kids Park began as a dream shared by childhood friends Rebecca Martinez and Daniel Chen in 2015. Both parents themselves, they noticed a gap in Toronto's entertainment landscape - there wasn't a place that truly combined education, safety, and pure fun for children aged 2-12.
What started as weekend brainstorming sessions in Rebecca's kitchen evolved into a comprehensive business plan that would revolutionize how Canadian families think about indoor entertainment. After securing funding from local investors who believed in their vision, they opened the first FunLand location in a converted warehouse in Toronto's family-friendly Leslieville neighborhood.
The initial 5,000 square feet featured just three main activity zones, but the response was overwhelming. Parents appreciated the educational focus, children loved the interactive play areas, and the community embraced having a dedicated space for family bonding. Within two years, FunLand had expanded to 15,000 square feet and introduced specialized programs for birthday parties, school field trips, and summer camps.
Today, FunLand Kids Park serves over 10,000 families annually and has become a cornerstone of the community, hosting everything from autism-friendly play sessions to new parent meetups. Our commitment to safety, education, and fun has never wavered, and we continue to innovate while staying true to our original mission.
